Becoming More resilient Starts With...

“We pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as allGod’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.”  Ephesians 3:16-18 NLT

Do you ever wish you were more resilient in the face of the challenges of life? You want to be able to bounce back easier, regulate your emotions better, problem-solve with more clarity, and ask for help without the embarrassment or shame of needing support.

How often do you get harsh with yourself when you aren’t able to do these things? As a self-described “Survivor”, I became determined to figure out how to get through whatever came my way. The subtle message here was, “Don’t need anyone. You can figure it out if you just try hard enough. It might be messy and take a lot of trial and error, but I am a survivor and I will figure it out!”

Resilience can seem like a “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” kind of skill. BUT, what if…the roots of it are not grounded in ourselves but a different source of strength.

What if…being rooted and grounded (established) in God’s love could strengthen you? Could it give you what you need to face whatever life throws at you?

How would you approach life differently if you truly believed you were deeply loved by the one who created you?

Why did Paul want us to understand how wide, how long, how high, and how deep God’s love is for us? He knew it would transform our trust, give us inner strength, and empower us with unlimited resources as we face the lifeyness of life. He also wanted us to grasp this in the context of togetherness (“as all God’s people”). There is beauty and pain in togetherness - AND - it is worth it!

Becoming more resilient starts with…being rooted and grounded in His deep love for us, for YOU.

  • We can trust He is for us

  • We can lean on the wisdom and strength The Spirit within us provides

  • We can operate from a place of secure attachment to our maker

  • We can ask for His help to regulate our thoughts and emotions

  • We can courageously ask for support from our community

  • We can extend this same love and rootedness to others in the midst of life's storms

Let me ask it again…

How would you approach life differently if you truly believed you were deeply loved by the one who created you?

We are praying for you as you explore the depths of His love for YOU!

Rooted & expressing love,

Tammy
