Walking The Wilderness?

Updated: Jun 5, 2025

"Your wilderness season isn’t the end of the story—it’s the beginning of something new."

This is not how it felt upon entry. All that was familiar was suddenly gone.

The people, the familiar surroundings, the routine, the unfinished dreams, the place to worship with others...GONE! All Gone!

Everything got eerily quiet. No more morning check-ins, no appointments on the books, no people to lead, no calls to answer or emails to send or return, no teachings to prep, no planning or collaborating, just silence.

With my husband at work and kids all grown, I was left to wander the wilderness alone.

Yes, I chose this particular wilderness. My mind, heart and body needed a break, needed time to reset and connect more deeply with Jesus. I knew a lot of what lay ahead for me because I have walked through other wilderness seasons. Seasons that led me to feel disconnected, discouraged, isolated, confused, depressed, and alone to sort through the hurt and anger that led to this. We can still grieve the losses of our own choosing. And I did!

I had no idea all that God had in mind on the other side of this decision but was comforted by that fact that, "He is my ever present help in time of need" (Psalm 46:1) and we would navigate this wilderness together.

There are many insights and lessons to learn while walking through the wilderness seasons. I will be sharing some of those as we travel together. I got my boots dirty, fell down, got back up, and kept taking steps. I am not an expert telling you the "right" way to walk through it. However, I do chose to be a Wilderness Guide leading toward the wide-open spacious life God intended for us to have. I will shine the light on your path and offer hope as you find your way.

This season led me to you. Want to walk the through the wilderness into the wide open spacious life together?
